Another Dream Fulfilled?

character01 copy

I have been daydreaming for a while now about one day making my very own web comic but until recently have not had the tools. At least not the tools that would make it possible for me to crank out comics on a regular basis. I recently stumbled on a program however, that might make it possible. I am still limited by my knowledge of the program and my very limited illustration skills, but it at least seems more possible now than it did before.

The main challenge is making organic or even basically spherical shapes. Robots are no problem but as tempting as it is to settle with a world peopled entirely by squarish looking robots, I think I'd like to push for something a little  more interesting. Will I be able to pull it off? Only time will tell.

  1. interesting. what program is it...pray tell?

  2. Google Sketchup. Not entirely what the program is for, I know, but it is by far the most intuitive easy-to-use 3D modeling program I have ever seen. I like using it for the web comic because it saves time and trouble by letting me create a character I can use over and over with different settings and lightings and angles. Between Sketchup and Photoshop I should be able to put together some pretty nice comic frames with a lot less work.
